Would you rather enjoy the richness of sesame in noodles or in curry? At Gomacro Salon, dishes made with sesame paste are at the heart of the menu. The hot Gomacro tantanmen pairs a rich sesame-paste soup with a house-made vegan broth and egg-free Mongolian alkaline noodles. Add heat to taste with chilli oil or chilli powder: you can savour the sesame first, then gradually turn up the spice. One diner who tried the tantanmen also appreciated being able to adjust the heat by adding chilli oil to the mellow soup.

For curry, there is the strikingly white “All-White Curry Set” and the “Gomacro Curry Set”, made with vegetables slowly sautéed in extra-virgin sesame oil and a house spice blend. The white curry is rich and mildly spicy, with plenty of sesame paste. A diner who ordered it enjoyed trying the condiments served alongside. If you’re after a spicy noodle soup, the Gomacro Curry Noodles are another option, made with vegan stock and a house spice blend. Gomacro’s sesame chilli sauce is suggested for adding extra heat.

At breakfast, one diner enjoyed pairing vegetables steamed in a bamboo basket with sesame sauce, and remembered the sesame-based drink as a highlight. Breakfast is served on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 to 10. Check the days and hours if you’re planning a morning meal.

For dessert, diners have praised the black sesame pudding and other sesame sweets. The menu also includes a sesame chocolate cake made with rice-flour and okara batter, served with ice cream if you wish.
